Delivered first passport printed new DR consulate general in NJ

PATERSON-NEW JERSEY.- The new and independent Dominican consulate in this city, now located on Market Street on the corner of Veterano, a few meters from where it was previously, officially delivered this Monday the first passport book that was printed at the consular headquarters in the Garden State.

Consul Ángel Aníbal Pichardo Acota delivered the document to its owner, José Luis Amarante Rodríguez, a native of Salcedo, in the presence of Eduard Figueroa, Director of Passport Issuance and Renewal, of the General Directorate of Passports (DGP) at the Dominican Republic, who visited the consulate to inspect the installation of modern equipment acquired to speed up the processing process.

“Today is a historic day for the recently installed Dominican consulate in New Jersey, as something that our nationals have been waiting for for many years, to receive their renewed passport book in a short time, “said the consular official.

Pichardo Acosta highlighted the fact that the printing of the first renewed passport was the product of the hard work carried out in a week by technicians who traveled from Santo Domingo to connect the modern equipment acquired by the consulate with the system of the General Directorate of Passports.

Dominicans who witnessed this delivery managed to express that, thanks to the new consulate, it will now be possible to obtain the passport and other consular documents in record time, in a short time, which will save money and time by not having to travel to New York.
