The defense of Major General Adán Cáceres Silvestre filed an appeal requesting the cessation of the preventive detention that was imposed on the main defendant in the Coral and Coral 5G cases.
Lawyer Romer Jimenez reported that together with the instance he deposited the arrest warrant and the resolution that imposed 18 months of preventive detention on his client, which shows that the former head of security of former President Danilo Medina served the maximum time that should be held in preventive prison (18 months).
It is recalled that by means of a similar resource and after he had served 18 months in preventive detention, the judge of the Seventh Investigating Court of the National DistrictDeiby Peguero, changed the coercion measure to Alexis Medina Sánchez and other defendants in the Antipulpo case.
It is recalled that on September 26, the judge yanibet rivas confirmed the preventive detention of Major General Adán Cáceres; under the argument that he represents a danger to the process being followed in the Coral and Coral 5G cases “because of his status as an active military officer and because of the high rank he occupies.”
