A call to the women of the country to denounce their aggressors and not normalize the violence, was what the Ombudsman, Eduardo Leblanc González, did after registering the case of the 14-year-old girl murdered in the province of Colón.

Leblanc González stated that those women who feel threatened or abused can approach the Panamanian Observatory against Gender Violence since it is important to denounce acts of violence against women and strengthen protection measures.

The defender said that now that the Law that creates the Justices of the Peace is being reviewed, it is necessary to give greater strength and protection to women victims of violence, reformulating the issue of the distance and peace tickets.

In the morning hours, the crime of this young woman was described by the authorities as a femicide, after the father of the alleged victim’s partner handed him over to the police.

The 16-year-old minor allegedly received help from an adult (a madman) to move the girl’s body to the dump.
