Without thinking that misfortune and crime would affect them, many merchants closed their stands on Thursday night to go to rest, without imagining that criminals would do their thing at dawn.

“From all the stalls they have opened they have taken money, they have searched and they have gone to where the money is,” said René Cencia, a clothing merchant who stated that more than 6,500 soles were stolen from his stand.
He added: “According to the guachimán, he says that at midnight he has gone out of the market to sweep, even there, supposedly this has happened, but, I say, how is he not going to notice so many stalls, they have cut off the ears of the doors”.
The merchants showed their discomfort because the Municipality of Huancavelica only put one security personnel, who is over 60 years old.
The pain of the merchants is enormous, since many of them had to take out loans from the bank to acquire merchandise, with the aim of earning money, paying off the loan and continuing to work to support their family.
“My merchandise is not there, I don’t even have to pay the bank, everything was together, my merchandise has been searched for everything and they have taken it, pantyhose, stockings. More or less my merchandise is worth 5 thousand soles”, said Celia Guillén Quispe, a merchant in the clothing area for five years.
He said that they had also taken about 3 thousand soles from him, which was all he had sold and was to pay the bank.

“I work with the bank, how am I going to pay? Let them find the thieves,” Celia Guillén said through tears of indignation.
Juan Quispe Acevedo, a wool vendor, also showed his indignation at this robbery, who arrived at 6 in the morning and saw that nearly 500 soles had been stolen from him.
“To get that money, it is a sacrifice, the utility in the business that I conduct is minimal, and for my age, 77 years old, I really need it,” said Juan Quispe, who asked that the Municipality forgive him the monthly payments to try to make up for such a loss.
Likewise, the merchant Ambrosia Huamaní Martínez said that they broke the padlock, a moon, and searched all the money and clothes from her stand.

“They broke the window, they threw out the child I had and they took all my money, they took 3 thousand soles from me, yesterday I was going to give it to my daughter and I didn’t give it to her, now they robbed me,” Ambrosia Huamaní said through tears.
In her turn, the market administrator, Yesenia Castillo, said that the robbery was unexpected, that the matter is under investigation. Also, she did not rule out the possibility that they could hire more security personnel. They affected merchants in the areas of shoes, medicinal herbs and clothing.
