Dajabón.- The National Police reported yesterday that the death of twenty-three calves that occurred on Sunday in a farm in the Palo Blanco section of this city was caused by intoxication when eating growing grass, which accumulates a large amount of toxic nitrate and nitrite .

Police members appeared at the property of Francisco Antonio Ortiz in the company of the veterinary doctor Tibero Cordero Fernández, in charge of the agricultural area of ​​Dajabón, who certified the origin of the death of the animals. The agents and the public official made an appearance at the farm, after being informed of the incident by Ramón Francisco Solano, who had the animals under his care.
