DC will seek an alliance with Democratic Socialism ahead of the Constitutional Council elections

The Christian Democracy (DC) issued a statement on constitutional and electoral matters, after holding its first face-to-face national council after the pandemic, advancing some definitions that the party will take, in view of the Constitutional Council election scheduled for next May 7 .

“In constitutional matters, the Christian Democracy reaffirms its commitment to a new Constitution for the country. One that represents the feelings of the people of Chile and that allows laying the foundations for the democratic, political, economic and cultural development of our society for the coming decades. “He begins by pointing out the DC statement.

In this sense, in electoral matters, they reaffirm their conviction to “build with others and not take the road alone.” Therefore, they will favor “the development of an electoral alliance with the parties that make up Democratic Socialism for the next Constitutional Council elections.”

It is worth mentioning that Democratic Socialism is the official conglomerate made up of the Socialist Party (PS), the Party for Democracy (PPD), the Radical Party (PR), the Liberal Party (PL) and the New Deal platform.

In this way, adds the DC, “we will also seek to consolidate a long-term alliance with a view to the following municipal and regional elections.”

“We know that Chile’s challenges require broad agreements. In this sense, we express our total willingness to contribute and participate in them and we call on the Government to build great agreements in Public Safety, Health, Education, Pension Reform , in Tax Reform, in the Migration Crisis, in Decentralization and in Economic Recovery incorporating Inflation control”, complements the Christian Democrat statement. Likewise, he adds, “with the same force we call on the right not to be marginalized from the dialogue necessary for these agreements.”
