Daniel Martínez reappeared with Yamandú Orsi during a tour in Cerro Largo

The former president of Montevideo and former candidate for the Presidency for the Broad Front, Daniel Martínez, reappeared in the political arena this Friday during a tour of Cerro Largo in which he accompanied the current mayor of Canelones and pre-candidate for the Presidency, Yamandú Orsi.

The deputy for Cerro Largo of the Broad Front, Alfredo Fratti, also participates in the tour. “All sectors of the Broad Front have to be on the field,” said Orsi in the Lake Merin committee where he participated in an activity.

“We all need each other. The Front is a group of sectors but with different sensibilities,” added the mayor of Canelones.

Since his loss in 2019, Daniel Martínez has made few public appearances. His name returned to the media agenda when he met with El Observadorwhen resigned from the Socialist Party in December of last year and few times more.

Now, Martínez was shown together with his partner Orsi in what is his first appearance watching the 2024 elections.

Orsi and Martínez shared management of their respective municipalities (2015-2019) and in the second round of the 2019 elections, after a weak first round in October, Orsi took command of Martínez’s campaign.

Orsi’s tour of Cerro Largo this Friday includes stops in Plácido Rosas, Lago Merín and Melo.
