From today, Monday, October 17, visitors to the Llaqta of Machu Picchu must strictly comply with the entry time that corresponds to the purchased ticket, reported the Decentralized Directorate of Culture (DDC) of Cusco.
Through a statement, the entity explained that the measure is given in accordance with the provisions of article 16 of the Regulation of Sustainable Use and Tourist Visit for the Conservation of the Llaqta or Inca city of Machu Picchu, approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 2016-2018-MC.
Likewise, they detailed that the stay in the Llaqta for hours must be respected by all users in order to guarantee the conservation of the monument and the satisfaction of the visitor. As well as the schedules, circuits, alternate routes and the available capacity, according to the admission capacity of 4,044 daily visits.
“Entrance to the Inca city of Machupicchu will not be allowed outside the hours established in the ticket“, it reads.
In this sense, the DDC exhorted its national and foreign visitors, operators and professional tour guides to respect the schedules and the maximum stay time of 3 hours in the Llaqta and called on them to contribute with their work to protect the heritage of all Peruvians and humanity.
The Decentralized Directorate of Culture of Cusco also reiterated its commitment to care for and preserve the Cultural Heritage of the Nation and the originality of the National Archaeological Park of Machupicchu for future generations.
