Cubans react to the death of a young man due to lack of ambulances

MIAMI, United States.- The death of a young man in Havana due to lack of ambulances has dismayed thousands of Cubans inside and outside the island, who have expressed their outrage over what happened on social networks and have sent countless messages to the mother. of condolences

Andy Aguero Barrios passed away this Thursday after hours in the Rafael Valdés polyclinic in Havana waiting for an ambulance to take him to a hospital. During the wait, Maritza Barrios, Agüero’s mother, had explained on Facebook that her son, blind and autistic, needed a transfusion, since he had 6.3 hemoglobin.

“My son is going to die. I have no way to take it on my own. (…) Please, I need urgent help, an ambulance, ”she desperately asked in the first publication. However, hours later she confirmed the worst of her outcomes.

“Good evening, excuse me for not answering you, I will give you the details later, but unfortunately my child passed away at 6:00 in the afternoon and I thank you for your concern,” Barrios wrote.

Thousands of Cubans have reacted to the news and have shown solidarity with the young man’s mother, while strongly denouncing the increasingly deteriorated health system on the island.

“My lady, condolences. There are no words of comfort. May her baby rest in peace, ”one user wrote.

“How much impotence and how much pain your news has given me, I am truly sorry, my condolences to the family and that EPD your child,” said another.

Another person lamented what happened and criticized the system that the government boasts so much about: “It is very sad everything that happened with your child, the precarious health system in Cuba does not help situations like these have a good ending, EPD, and much encouragement for his entire family, especially the parents who will be devastated.

“A little boy who did not deserve this, until when are these things going to happen…. This cannot stay like this, today it was this little one, but hundreds more die every day … EPD, ”wrote another user.

“Until when Cuban mothers have to continue suffering because of that dictatorship. It is a very strong pain. Díaz-Canel with the pain of a mother is not played. #Down with the dictatorship It is very sad what is happening in Cuba because of that misrule,” says one of the more than a thousand comments that the post already has.
