Cuban player Miguel Ángel López continues to shine in Brazilian volleyball. The Creole culminated in the last game of his club Sada Cruzeiro as the top scorer with 25 points.
His team was victorious in five sets against Sepsi-SP in the opening of the semifinals of the Brazilian Volleyball Super League.
In a clash described as “electrifying”, the work of the Cienfuegos was decisive, which earned him the VivaVolei trophy, which is awarded to the player with the best overall performance on the boards.
Sada Cruzeiro got scores of 25-21, 26-28, 25-22, 23-25 and 15-11, in the Riacho gym, in the Contagem municipality of the state of Minas Gerais.
After that victory, the team took the first step in the play off which will continue next Friday on the opponent’s land, at the Villa Leopoldina gym, in Sao Paulo.
Both teams have already met in four Superliga finals, with three titles won by Sada Cruzeiro in the 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2017-18 seasons.
The Sepsi-SP triumphed in the 2010-11.
The two traditional Brazilian clubs also played in the decisions of the Copa Brasil and other important matches.
