Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez today develops an intense work agenda in Chile that includes meetings with representatives of the government of President-elect Gabriel Boric, whose presidential ceremony he will attend tomorrow.

Rodríguez met this day with María Begoña Yarza, appointed Minister of Health, with whom he exchanged about the experiences of the Caribbean nation in the area of ​​health, according to the Cuban Foreign Ministry on Twitter.

The island’s diplomat also met with the next Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation of Chile, Flavio Andrés Salazar, in a meeting in which both parties expressed their common interest in expanding cooperation links in correspondence with mutual potentialities .

On this day, the Cuban Foreign Minister also held a meeting with Antonia Urrejola, who will assume the direction of the foreign policy of the South American nation in the new government, to whom he confirmed the will to deepen bilateral relations and cooperation between both countries.

Upon his arrival on Chilean soil, the head of Cuban Foreign Relations reaffirmed the purpose of promoting the development of the historical ties that unite both nations.

This will was confirmed in December of last year when Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated the newly elected Gabriel Boric on Twitter, an event that he described as a historic popular victory.

We ratify the will to expand bilateral relations and cooperation between both peoples and governments, the Cuban president said on the social network at that time.

The presidential transfer ceremony will take place this Friday with the assistance of several heads of state and government and representatives of Latin American and European countries.

Boric, who came to power with a leftist coalition, became the South American nation’s youngest president.
