Cuban actress Aurora Basnuevo dies, the Estelvina of “Alegrías de sobremesa”

MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban actress, singer and presenter Aurora Basnuevo Hernandez passed away this Monday at the age of 84.

The news was confirmed by official mediawhich so far have not offered details of death.

Basnuevo, popular among Cubans for his character Estelvina, on the program tabletop joys of the radio station Radio Progreso, he intervened in dramatized spaces dedicated to theater, stories and comedies. She also worked on music programs, unfolding as a comedian, singer and presenter.

Born on August 13, 1938 in Colón, Matanzas, she began doing theater and came to television in 1968, with the adventures of Los Mambises. She took part in more than a dozen films, including Sauce, Amanda’s Prophecies Y Havana Blues.

Known as La Mulatísima, she dedicated a large part of her artistic career to radio.

Since 1960 she was married to fellow actor Mario Limonta, who survives her, and whom she met on the program The supreme court of artby Jose Antonio Alonso.
