Cuba: the son of the “payer of promises” dies

Independent press media in Cuba, users on social networks as well as the official magazine Alma mater reported the death, which occurred between Friday night and Saturday morning, of the son of Omar Quintero, who was known a few months ago as “the payer of promises.” Lázaro Quintero died at the age of 36 due to cancer.

“Today we learned of the death of Lázaro, son of Omar, the payer of promises. Alma mater joins the sadness for the loss of the boy”, reported the official Cuban publication.

His son Lázaro, a young worker in the health sector, was diagnosed 11 years ago with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer that forms in the lymphatic system. The disease had affected his lungs and the doctors estimated him only a few months to live.
