Cuba, showcase for international art in the month of Francophonie

Havana, Mar 6 (Prensa Latina) Artists and works from the international scene today make up the program of the Francophonie Day, which during the month of March turns Cuba into a showcase for the various aesthetic expressions.

According to the website of the French Embassy on the island, the meeting promises an approach to music, cinema, comics, photography, fashion and literature from the 88 territories that make up the French-speaking community.

Dedicated to promoting the French language and cultural and linguistic diversity; The event constitutes a platform to promote cooperation in the service of sustainable development and world peace, details the text.

Likewise, the document indicates that the day becomes a starting point for the XVIII Summit, scheduled for November 19 and 20 in Djerba (Tunisia) and that it will focus on digital technology as a vector of development and solidarity in the French-speaking world.

The program of activities proposes the video-photography installation Cine decalè, by the artist Edith Roux, which is registered among the attractions of the Wilfredo Lam Contemporary Art Center during the XIV Havana Biennial.

Likewise, the audiovisual performance by the artist Janna Beck entitled Framed, which combines digital drawing with projections and music, by Belgian and Cuban creators, stands out in the calendar of the day.

This proposal is part of a research project carried out by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium in collaboration with Maxlab and Lab101 and is also part of the Havana Biennial, in collaboration with the Cuban groups Axis Visual Lab and Tocar Pronto.

The agenda also includes a rock concert with Rockiñol, the opening of the exhibition Parallel Faces by Abel Massot, as well as fashion days, a film screening and a recital by the French pianists Hugues Leclère and Anne Dezombre.
