The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, lamented today the loss of lives of compatriots in a car accident in the state of Veracruz, Mexico, and sent his condolences to family and friends.
On his Twitter social network account, the foreign minister also conveyed his wish for a speedy recovery for the injured, in a fact that, he emphasized, is associated with irregular migrant smuggling.
Rodríguez stressed that the Cuban diplomatic headquarters in Mexico carries out the pertinent actions to guarantee consular assistance to the victims and maintains close communication with the corresponding authorities.
“#Cuba advocates and reaffirms its commitment to legal, orderly and safe migration,” said the headline in a thread published on the digital platform.
The day before, the island’s embassy in that nation also reported on an accident in the state of Monterrey, both of which occupy diplomatic officials to contact the relatives of the victims in Cuba and abroad and provide all the support required.
In various scenarios, the Caribbean nation has denounced the non-compliance by the United States government with the migratory agreements between the two countries, as well as the actions to hinder travel and the reinforcement of the economic blockade, actions that encourage irregular migration with its consequent damage to the life and safety of people.
