Cuba notifies one death from COVID-19 and 510 infections this Monday

The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) notified a death due to COVID-19 at midnight on Monday, when the SARS-CoV-2 virus totaled 510 infections in Cuba.

The death corresponds to a man in the 40-year-old range, residing in Granma province and with chronic alcoholism as a comorbidity. The sum of fatalities due to this disease rises to 8,516 in Cuba, where the lethality remains at 0.78%.

Of the total infections, 499 were contacts of confirmed cases and in seven individuals the cause of the infection was not specified. Imported cases closed at four.

All the figures were below one hundred, and the highest came from Mayabeque (86), Camagüey (79) and Villa Clara (71).

The laboratories processed only 7,641 samples and 8.8% of those diagnosed were without symptoms.

By age, the most affected range continues to be that of those under 20 years of age, with a total of 142 positives. It is followed by those over 60, with 127. In addition: 123 classify between 40 and 59 years old, and 118 between 20 and 39.

The Minsap reported 860 clinical discharges while those admitted as a result of COVID-19 total 7,084; of these, 3,132 were confirmed active cases.

From the intensive care rooms, 29 bedridden patients were reported, 11 patients in critical condition and 18 reported in serious condition.
