Cuba Eterna: The musical imagery of Collazo and Farrés

The emotional charge of the composers is given by intuition. Managing the elements with which the song has been made has other results and that is where the value comes from, the secret, what we call the “mystery of creation” where music becomes permanent and does not pass over time.

Roberto “Bobby” Collazo was born in Havana in 1916 and died in New York in 1989. Osvaldo Farrés was born in Havana in 1902 and died in New Jersey in 1985. Both were composers with extensive creative careers, exponents of a musical transnationalism that makes his work stand still.
