The scenic designer Eduardo Arrocha (Havana, 1934) was honored this Friday with the National Dance Award 2022, coinciding with the celebrations in Cuba for the International Day of this artistic manifestation, official media on the Island report.

The decision was based on the long career of Maestro Arrocha, who, in addition to his work in the plastic arts, adds more than half a century focused on the design of shows for dramatic works, cinema, cabaret and theater. dance. Due to his versatility and his extensive and successful career linked to different artistic manifestations, Arrocha has also been awarded the National Theater Award in 2007, and the National Design Award in 2013.
In his training, the outstanding designer received courses at the National Opera Theater in Prague (1966) and the Bratislava Opera and Ballet (1971), which consolidated his career on the Cuban stage.
