Cuba and the United Arab Emirates for enhancing cooperation

Cuba and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) seek to enhance mutual cooperation and investment, according to what emerged today from several meetings between government representatives of both countries.

The Embassy of the Caribbean nation described as cordial and productive the meeting held between the Assistant Minister of the UAE Foreign Ministry for International Development, Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Cuban Foreign Investment, Déborah Rivas.

In the exchange they discussed the main projects and aspects of bilateral collaboration, according to a tweet from the island’s diplomatic mission.

Ambassador Roberto Blanco and the General Director of Foreign Investment of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, Carlos Luis Jorge, also participated on behalf of the Island.

The Cuban delegation also held a dialogue with the Deputy Minister of Finance of the UAE, Younis Haji Al Khoor, who expressed the will to strengthen economic relations and promote investments, according to Rivas in the same social network.

Last Wednesday, the deputy minister was received by the head of State for Foreign Trade, Thani bin Ahmed al Zeyoudi, a meeting from which agreements emerged for new joint actions to promote bilateral ties.

Previously, Rivas presented, before directors of the Sovereign Fund of the United Arab Emirates, including the Executive Director of Traditional Infrastructure Saed Arar, the portfolio of projects from various sectors to be developed with foreign capital on the island.
