Criminal Court of Appeals confirms resolution that rejected the trip of Vladimir Cerrón to Mexico

The Third National Criminal Appeals Chamber of the National Superior Court confirmed the resolution of last September 6, which declared the request of the defense of so you can travel to Mexico.

As recalled, the former regional governor of Junín had requested judicial permission to travel to that country on September 22, 23 and 24 of this year and be a speaker at the XXVI seminar “Parties and a new society.”

It should be noted that Cerrón Rojas has restricted appearance in the preparatory investigation formalized for the alleged commission of the crimes of collusion and illicit association to commit a crime to the detriment of the State.

In its resolution, said instance considered that the security measure cannot yield to the travel claim of the founder of Peru Libre, because although it has a political interest, it does not have “sufficient legitimacy” for breaking it.

Cerrón Rojas is being investigated, along with other people, for allegedly having colluded with representatives of the El Carmen II consortium (made up of the companies Neptuno Contratistas Generales SAC, Construcciones Moyua SL and Activa Perú M&O Construccion SAC) when he was regional governor, in order to favor him in the construction and improvement of the El Carmen hospital, a project valued at more than S/150 million.

For this case, the Junín anti-corruption prosecutor’s office, represented by Judge Mary Huamán, requested 16 years in prison for the former regional governor in August of last year.

It should be noted that Cerrón Rojas was sentenced to four years in prison for corruption in 2019due to irregularities during his tenure as governor of Junín.

It is necessary to point out that Vladimir Cerron has another restricted appearance as part of another investigation against him, Guido Bellido and Guillermo Bermejoamong others involved in the alleged crime of affiliation to a terrorist organization.

In this case, the Fourth Preparatory Investigation Court approved permission for Cerrón to travel to Huánuco and Cerro de Pasco on September 19 and 20, and to Huancavelica, Huancayo and Lima on September 26, 27, 28 and 29.

However, his request to travel to Mexico between September 21 and 25 was rejected. This decision was accepted by the legal defense of Vladimir Cerrón, but the prosecutor Eneida Aguilar said that she would appeal in second instance.
