Covid-19 positivity rate decreased from 33.4% in week 4 to 4.6% in week 12.

Both deaths and percentages of positivity from Covid-19 have decreased considerably in recent weeks, according to the latest report issued by the Ministry of Health (Minsa), who reported that the percentage of positivity dropped from 33.4% in the week 4 to 4.6% at week 12. Hospitalizations also decreased from 829 at week 4 to 111 at week 12.

Similarly, they highlighted that in week 4, 71 deaths were recorded, while in week 12, only 7 deaths were recorded. Active cases fell from 54,317 in week 4 to 1,761 in week 12.

As for the cases registered in the last 24 hours, the authorities indicated that they recorded 295 new cases, for a cumulative of 764,831, without registering deaths. Currently, 8,170 accumulated deaths have been registered and a fatality rate of 1.1%.

Those recovered amount to 754,138 with 379 new recovered. 6,127 tests were applied for a positivity of 4.8%.

There are 2,523 active cases throughout the country, of which 2,440 are in home isolation and 83 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 2,411 at home and 29 in hotels. Those hospitalized are 75 in the Ward and 8 in the ICU.

The districts with the highest incidence of cases today are: Rufina Alfaro in San Miguelito with 1|6; David in Chiriquí with 12; Penonomé, Coclé with 10 and San Francisco with 9 cases and Juan Díaz in Panama City.
