COVID-19: more than 29 million 677 thousand Peruvians have already been vaccinated against the coronavirus

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that as of Sunday, July 31, the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose amounts to 29,677,187. Meanwhile, the total number of citizens vaccinated with two doses is 27,899,308 until 7:00 a.m.

Likewise, the number of citizens who received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine amounts to 19,662,081. While with the fourth dose, 3,232,072 inoculated people are reported.

So far, Peru has received more than 26 million vaccines from Sinopharm, more than 46 million from Pfizer, more than 10 million from AstraZeneca, and more than one million from Moderna. All of these are applied according to the programming by age groups established by the Government after prioritizing health personnel, older adults and members of the National Police, Armed Forces and Firefighters.

Both the Sinopharm, Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines must be given in two doses to vaccinate a person against COVID-19.

The vaccination process in Peru began on February 9, 2021, in the main health centers in Lima and Callao. A digital tool implemented by the Minsa allows access to information on the progress of the dose application. to check the number of people vaccinated with both doses or with only one.

New vaccination plan

The Government established that a new vaccination plan against COVID-19 will begin on April 16, 2021, with the aim of vaccinating older adults first.

To do this, the Executive implemented the Pongo el Hombro platform, so that people can find out the location, date and time they will be vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

In Lima, Callao and other regions children are already vaccinated from 5 years of age. To date, the third dose is given to people 12 and older. Meanwhile, the fourth dose is applied to the population over 30 years of age and those over 18 years of age with comorbidities.

Seniors who cannot travel to their vaccination centers have the option of calling Line 113, so that a brigade can come to their home and apply the doses.
