The Ministry of Health reported 9,101 new cases of Covid-19, with a positivity of 14.33% in the last 24 hours at the national level, after carrying out 62,828 PCR tests and antigen tests, while the daily positivity in the Region Metropolitan is 13.95%.
According to the health authority, the variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -1% and -6% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, six regions have decreased their cases in the last seven days and three in the last two weeks.
Of the 9,101 new cases, 33% are diagnosed by antigen test, 48% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 26% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 22% due to antigen, 40% due to BAC and 19% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Valparaíso, Coquimbo and Antofagasta.
Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Arica, Coquimbo and Antofagasta regions.
According to today’s report, of the total new cases of Covid-19, 4,703 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,659 do not present symptoms. In addition, 2,739 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 4,023,697. Of that total, 42,657 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,919,209.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 26 deaths from causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deceased amounts to 58,589 in the country.
To date, 177 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 108 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 249 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 62,828 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 40,672,367 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 14.33% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 13.95%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, according to the Minsal report, there are 29 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,307 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 53%, leaving a total of 822 beds available for use.
