Covid-19: Minsal confirms that O'Higgins, Ñuble, Araucanía and Biobío are the regions with the highest positivity in the last week

The Ministry of Health reported 3,057 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, with a positivity rate of 4.66% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after carrying out 62,442 exams, PCR and antigen tests. Daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 4.73%.

According to the health authority, the variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -32% and -59% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, 15 regions have decreased their cases in the last seven and 14 days.

Of the 3,057 new cases, 30% are diagnosed by antigen test, 50% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 26% of those reported are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 22% due to antigen, 45% due to BAC and 23% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.

In a new report on the situation of the pandemic in Chile, the Minsal confirmed that, according to the sample, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are O’Higgins, Ñuble, Araucanía and Biobío.

Meanwhile, the Biobío region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Aysén, Ñuble and Maule regions.

According to today’s report, of the 3,057 new cases of Covid-19, 1,593 correspond to symptomatic people and 567 do not present symptoms. In addition, 897 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not reported.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 3,512,020. Of that total, 15,837 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,440,961.

As for deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 44 deaths from causes associated with the disease caused by coronavirus. The total number of deceased amounts to 57,041 in the country.

To date, 423 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 316 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 345 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 62,442 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 36,115,860 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 4.66% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 4.73%.

With regard to Health Residences, the network has 33 lodging facilities, with a total of 3,073 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 30%, leaving a total of 1,813 beds available for use.
