Minimum for professionals? Project in Congress proposes it

Salary guide: how much do workers earn in Latin America?

The pandemic split in two the reality behind the way in which both companies and employees see jobs and their compensation.

(Countries where salaries are paid in cryptocurrencies).

Although at the beginning, two years ago, it directly affected job openings, which led countries like Colombia to see a 10-year delay in progress in employment, today, it is possible to see how the labor market evolved.

How did the industries behave? Is it time to change jobs and expect a significant increase in salary compensation? Will the country continue to grow, or will it slow down? How much can you expect in terms of salary according to your professional profile?

Those are the central themes that Pay Balance 2022 by Show Me The Money, the salary studies platform, has wanted to cover after two years of global crisis.

This report is intended to be the most up-to-date snapshot of market wages for Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru.

In the analysis, Murilo Arruda, CEO and founder of Show Me The Moneystates that there are new behaviors in the labor market that have changed the paradigm of salary compensation.

“There are relevant changes in remuneration and forms of work that are here to stay. An example is the hybrid and asynchronous work that has become the main axis of the most requested benefits”.

In the case of Colombia, the report presents the way in which the country has faced its labor situation, beyond the health situation, and predicts a gradual pace of growth for the country.

“For this 2022, a slowdown in domestic consumption is expected in the short term, which would be offset by the reactivation of investment in infrastructure works. Although we are optimistic, we must consider that this is an electoral year, which has always slowed down investments while waiting for the definition of the new authorities and the policies that they will implement”, explained Alfonso Ochoa, Country Manager of DNA Human Capital.

For his part, he advises being cautious with labor movements during the year.

“The changes in employment that we see in the market are due to salary increases of between 10% and 15%, well below the 30% for which they did it before, without considering that the companies have adjusted their salaries downward. Although there are no salary reductions in companies, when making new hires they seek to obtain a significant reduction, between 15% and 20% compared to what was paid before “explained the Country Manager of DNA Human Capital.
