Chile registered just over three thousand new cases of Covid-19, with a positivity rate of 8.2% in the last 24 hours at the national level, after carrying out 35,156 PCR tests and antigen tests.
According to the health authority, the regions with the highest average positivity of cases by PCR in the last 7 days are: O’Higgins (12.1%), Maule (10.3%), La Araucanía (10.1%) and Biobío (9.9%), while the Metropolitan Region is the one with the highest positivity of cases by average antigen in the last 7 days with 12%.
Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Ñuble, Biobío and Los Ríos regions.
According to today’s report, of the 3,028 new cases of the virus, 1,738 correspond to symptomatic people and 499 have no symptoms. In addition, 791 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the country reaches 4,583,654. Of that total, 14,424 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,499,624.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours, 14 deaths were registered due to causes associated with the disease. The total number of deaths amounts to 60,923 in the country.
To date, 131 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 86 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 315 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, we have 30 accommodation facilities, with a total of 1,776 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 30%, leaving a total of 981 beds available for use.
