COVID-19: Mexico adds more than 100,000 infections in five days

Since the beginning of the health emergency and until today, 5 million 257,605 total cases and 312,118 deaths have been confirmed in the country.

The SSa details that the majority of cases occur among women, with an incidence of 51.8%; while deaths are more frequent among men, who represent 62% of them. In the last five weeks, most of the cases are present in the groups of 18 to 29 years, followed by the group of 30 to 39 years and 40 to 49 years.

The 10 entities with the most accumulated confirmed cases are: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, San Luis Potosí, Puebla, Veracruz and Sonora, which together make up 64% of all registered accumulated cases in the country.

As of today’s information cutoff, there are 114,449 active cases registered, that is, those that presented symptoms in the last 14 days. In addition, the SSa reports that until February 11, there are 14,154 deaths suspected of COVID-19, which include those pending by laboratory and those in the process of association.
