COVID-19: Mexico accumulates 5 million 722,541 cases and 323,720 deaths

It is not the first day that this adjustment has been made. Last Thursday, when 32,216 cases were registered in one day, the unit in charge of Jorge Alcocer explained that it was due to this data migration.

“The vast majority of these cases began respiratory symptoms throughout the year 2021,” he explained, noting that the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in Mexico maintains its downward trend, as has been the case for 10 weeks.

In the technical statement, Health reported that the incidence rate of accumulated cases is 4,398 per 100,000 inhabitants, while 7,064 active cases are registered – those positive cases that began with symptoms in the last 14 days, which allow identifying where there is greater viral activity and consequently increased transmission – with an incidence rate of 5.4 per 100,000 inhabitants.

To date, the 10 entities that accumulate the largest number of cases are Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Puebla and Sonora, which together make up 65% of all the accumulated cases registered in the country.
