State and municipal health departments recorded 23,398 new cases of covid-19 in 24 hours and confirmed 126 more deaths from complications associated with the disease.
With the new data, the total number of people infected with the new coronavirus during the pandemic reached 30,617,786. Yesterday (10), the information system of the Ministry of Health brought 30,594,388 accumulated cases.
The number of cases being monitored for covid-19 is at 255,339. The term is given to designate cases reported in the last 14 days in which patients were not discharged or died.
With today’s figures, the total number of deaths has reached 664,516. As of yesterday, the pandemic information panel marked 664,390 lives lost to the pandemic.
There are still 3,187 deaths under investigation. The occurrences involve cases in which the patient died, but the investigation into the cause of death (whether it was covid-19 or not) still requires additional tests and procedures.
So far, 29,697,931 people have recovered from Covid-19. The number corresponds to 97% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
The data are in the update of the Ministry of Health released this Wednesday (11). In the balance sheet, the information sent by states and municipalities on cases and deaths associated with covid-19 is consolidated.
States
According to the balance sheet of the Ministry of Health, the state that has the highest number of deaths from covid-19 is São Paulo (168,466). Then appear Rio de Janeiro (73,616), Minas Gerais (61,402), Paraná (43,158) and Rio Grande do Sul (39,361).
The states that register fewer deaths as a result of the disease are Acre (2,002), Amapá (2,132), Roraima (2,151), Tocantins (4,156) and Sergipe (6,345).
Vaccination
To date, 426,426,384 doses of vaccines against covid-19 have been applied, of which 176.3 million were the first dose; 157.3 million as a second dose and 4.8 million as a single dose. The booster dose has already been given to 81.8 million people and 3.5 million have already received the second extra dose, or fourth dose of the vaccine.
