The Ministry of Health (Minsal) published this Sunday morning a new daily report on the situation of the pandemic in the country. The portfolio reported that there were 5,202 new cases of Covid-19 and 22 deaths from causes associated with the disease. Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 16.50%.
The new confirmed cases at the national level show a drop of 13% in the last week, while in the last 14 days the variation is 6%. Meanwhile, 11 regions have decreased their confirmed cases in the last week.
Of the 5,202 new cases of Covid-19, 2,630 correspond to symptomatic people and 698 do not present symptoms. In addition, 1,874 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the country reaches 4,877,248. Of this total, 16,217 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,785,351.
Regarding the deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 22 deaths due to causes associated with Covid-19. The total number of deaths amounts to 62,187 in the country.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 31,870 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 46,801,026 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 15.11% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 16.50%.
To date, 138 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 97 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 273 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
