The Ministry of Health confirmed 7,874 new cases of Covid-19, with a positivity rate of 11.69% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after carrying out 68,109 exams, PCR and antigen tests. It was also reported that the daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 15.67%.
According to the health authority, the variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 28% and 95% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, only two regions have decreased their cases in the last seven days and one has done so in the last two weeks.
Of the total number of new cases, 34% are diagnosed by antigen test, 46% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 24% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 28% due to antigen, 41% due to BAC and 19% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Metropolitan, Valparaíso, O’Higgins and Maule.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Valparaíso, Atacama and Maule regions.
According to today’s report, of the 7,874 new cases of Covid-19, 4,387 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,354 have no symptoms. In addition, 2,133 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 3,684,585. Of that total, 31,341 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,594,399.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 10 deaths from causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths amounts to 57,877 in the country.
To date, 125 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 82 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 313 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 68,109 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 38,423,859 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 11.69% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 15.67%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, there are 28 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,337 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 44%, leaving a total of 1,017 beds available for use.
