Chile registered this Saturday for the third consecutive day more than 2,000 new cases of Covid-19, a slight outbreak that the health authorities attributed to the relaxation of health measures and made a call to receive booster doses to stop new infections.

Of the total number of new cases of the virus registered in today’s report, 1,427 correspond to symptomatic people and 521 do not present symptoms. In addition, 282 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

The total number of people who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 reaches 1,692,877. Of this total, 11,388 patients are in the active stage. This is the highest record since July 19, when 11,575 were reported. And the recovered cases reach 1,639,895.

Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 14 deaths from causes associated with COVID-19. The total number of deaths is 37,743 in the country.

Currently, 457 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 353 are on mechanical ventilation support. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 249 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.

Regarding the Laboratory Network and the diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 70,922 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 23,506,272 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 3.04% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 4%.

Finally, with regard to the Health Residences, the network has 57 accommodation areas, with 5,376 total beds. The real occupation nationwide is 71%, leaving a total of 1,178 beds available to be used.

It is worth mentioning that in order to stop the spread of the virus, starting next December, everyone over 55 years of age will be required to receive the third dose in order to use their vaccination card, a government pass that allows events with greater capacity and to be treated. inside bars and restaurants.

The borders, which were closed to travelers for six months, were opened on October 1, although only for vaccinated tourists who must do a mandatory 7-day quarantine.

Chilean or foreign residents must be isolated for five days or until the result of their PCR test is reviewed.
