Covid-19: Brazil has 29.83 million cases and 659 thousand deaths

Brazil recorded, in 24 hours, 22,167 cases of covid-19 and 206 deaths from the disease. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there are 34.245 million confirmed cases and 682,216 deaths, according to data released this Thursday (18) by the Ministry of Health.Covid-19: Brazil records 22,167 cases and 206 deaths in 24 hours

According to the bulletin, there are 33.16 million people who contracted the disease have recovered, which represents a cure rate of 96.8%. There are still 407,001 cases under follow-up.

The bulletin does not present updated death data for Mato Grosso do Sul.

States

The state with the highest number of cases and deaths is São Paulo, with 5.99 million and 173,839, respectively. Regarding the number of cases, the Southeast state is followed by Minas Gerais (3.86 million) and Paraná (2.72 million). The lowest rates are in Acre (147,922), Roraima (174,184) and Amapá (177,892).

In terms of deaths, São Paulo also leads with 173,839, followed by Rio de Janeiro (75,250) and Minas Gerais (63,365). The lowest rates are in Acre (2,027), Amapá (2,157) and Roraima (2,167).
