Covid-19 balance: Minsal reports 1,172 new cases and a positivity of 4.59% nationwide

The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where it reported 1,172 new cases, of which 725 correspond to symptomatic people and 97 did not present symptoms. In addition, 350 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 3,531,529 and recovered patients reached 3,465,703 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.

On the other hand, the death of seven people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 57,270 since the start of the pandemic. On the other hand, positivity reached 4.59% nationwide.

As for active cases, these reached 9,965 people and PCR tests amounted to 23,238 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 36,471,164.

Meanwhile, there are 311 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 238 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 2,130 critical beds enabled and 390 critical beds available.

Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 5.52%%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are O’Higgins, Magallanes, La Araucanía and Ñuble.
