Brazil reached 675,090 deaths due to covid-19, the Ministry of Health reported. The number of cases being monitored for covid-19 is 1,061,697. The term is given to designate cases reported in the last 14 days that were neither discharged nor progressed to death.

There are still 3,206 deaths under investigation. The deaths under investigation occur due to the fact that there are cases in which the patient died, but the investigation into the cause of covid-19 is still ongoing.

To date, 31,513,330 people have recovered from Covid-19, according to official data. The number corresponds to 91% of those infected since the beginning of the pandemic.

States

According to the balance of the Ministry of Health, at the top of the ranking of states with the most deaths from covid-19 recorded so far are São Paulo (171,959), Rio de Janeiro (74,461), Minas Gerais (62,541), Paraná (44,176) and Rio Grande do Sul (40,264).

The states with the fewest deaths resulting from the pandemic are Acre (2,009), Amapá (2,149), Roraima (2,154), Tocantins (4,172) and Sergipe (6,382).
