The report of the Referees Commission corresponding to the games of the ninth chapter of the Paraguayan championship, neither Franco Ortellado from Ameliano (vs. Olimpia) nor Jordan Santacruz from Nacional (vs. Cerro Porteño) should be expelled, as happened in such matches.

The affected clubs sent notes to the Court requesting that the players in question not be penalized. However, the request was rejected. Therefore, Ortellado will miss two days of the tournament -double reprimand and recidivism- and Santacruz will be left out for three games -direct red card plus captaincy-.
The justification for this determination has to do with the existence of physical contact in the offenses that led to the expulsions, as well as the “consideration regarding the intensity of said physical contact and the classification of excessive, reckless, serious, mild, abrupt force or other, It is at the discretion of the arbitral body, and in this case, in the opinion of this Court, said contact existed“.

Likewise, Richard Ortiz was punished with three dates without being able to compete, after the direct red card he received at Ameliano vs. Olympia while he wore the fringed captain’s armband.
“He warned us that there was no VAR 3 minutes before the expulsion. If it was for me, I would bring him my cell phone and show him that it was not red” 🗣️ Jordan Santacruz, player of #National.#VersusRadio @Universe970py pic.twitter.com/dQLeg0fr8a
