The official will take office as Panama’s new ambassador to the United States on a date that will be announced shortly; meanwhile, he will continue to lead the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Panama.
The current Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ramón Eduardo Martínez de la Guardia, was appointed by President Laurentino Cortizo as Panama’s ambassador to Washington.
Martínez, who has served as Minister of Commerce and Industry since the beginning of the current government administration, will occupy the position that remains vacant since the death of Juan De Dianous, who served as our country’s ambassador in Washington.
