Cortizo appoints Isabel Pérez Henríquez as the new director of the UAF

Isabel Pérez Henríquez was appointed this Tuesday by President Laurentino Cortizo as the new director of the Financial Analysis Unit (UAF), replacing David Saied, who had held the position since August 2019.

The Secretary of Communication of the State reported that Pérez Henríquez has received “multiple training” at the national and international level in the prevention of money laundering, financing of terrorism and prevention of the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

She has a degree in Law and Political Science from the University of Panama, where she also obtained a Postgraduate Degree in Mediation.

He completed diploma studies in “Money Laundering Prevention Controls and the Fight against the Financing of Terrorism, according to the risk to which the services and products they offer are subjected” at the International Banking Institute, Master’s Degree in Commercial Law from the Inter-American University of Panama, Master’s Degree in Higher Education from ISAE University.

“His resume includes extensive professional experience with more than 10 years in the private financial sector, in the area of ​​compliance, regulatory and legal regulations,” the statement said.
