Coronavirus: with 45 infections, Cuba closed on Thursday

Cuba reported 45 infections due to SARS-CoV-2 on Thursday, according to the part that broadcasts today the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), whose registry does not include deaths from COVID-19.

The laboratories processed 4,947 samples. Of the 45 positives, 37 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases, in six individuals the cause of the infection was not specified while in two the imported ones closed.

Sancti Spíritus (seven) was the province that reported the most cases in a day in which the other territories reported infections below five, with the exception of Santiago de Cuba, which did not report any.

By age, the group made up of those under 20 years old added 18 cases. They are followed by those in the range between 20 and 39 years, with 12 patients. In addition, six added those between 40 and 59, and nine those over 60.

According to the MINSAP, 51 clinical discharges were notified and the number of people admitted as a result of COVID-19 closed at 1,302; of these, 206 concern confirmed active cases.

In intensive care rooms, the sum of bedridden patients closed with three patients reported in serious condition.

The sum of fatalities from the pandemic was still 8,529.
