Coronavirus in Uruguay: nine deaths this Thursday, 2,182 new cases, and 126 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Thursday 2,182 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 10,008 analyses, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae).

What’s more, there were nine deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, between 63 and 96 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020 until now, 7,014 deaths from the disease have been recorded.

There are 16,991 active cases across the country and 126 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total number of positive cases with the disease, 281 correspond to health personnel.

Of the 2,182 new cases, 936 are from Montevideo, 270 from Canelones, 141 from Colonia, 141 from Maldonado, 74 from Artigas, 66 from Cerro Largo, 66 from Tacuarembó, 63 from Salto, 62 from San José, 55 from Paysandú, 52 from from Lavalleja, 46 from Florida, 42 from Rocha, 32 from Rivera, 29 from Soriano, 29 from Treinta y Tres, 28 from Flores, 26 from Durazno and 24 from Río Negro.

All departments report infected people this Thursday and Montevideo leads in number of active cases, with 8,264. follow him cannelloni (2,611), Maldonado (922) and Cologne (793).
