Uruguay registered this Saturday 1,471 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 10,307 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 14.2%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people (antigen and PCR).
What’s more, there were seven deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were between 65 and 85 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 7,134 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.
There are 10,492 active cases across the country and 51 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 215 correspond to the health personnel.
Of the 1,471 new cases, 715 were from Montevideo, 179 from Canelones, 69 from San José, 67 from Colonia, 58 from Maldonado, 56 from Cerro Largo, 49 from Lavalleja, 40 from Florida, 40 from Tacuarembo, 35 from Durazno, 31 from Paysandú, 29 from Rivera, 27 from Rocha, 21 from Soriano, 15 from Treinta y Tres, 12 from Salto, 10 from Artigas, nine from Flores and nine from Río Negro.
Montevideo leads in number of active cases with 4,699, followed by cannelloni (1,434), Cologne (566) and Saint Joseph (462), among others.
For the report of the day, the Ministry of Public Health reported that removed five cases from the active list.
