Coronavirus in Uruguay: 1,227 new cases, two deaths and 39 patients in ICU

Uruguay registered this Friday 1,227 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 11,408 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 10.7%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people.

What’s more, there were two deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19, who were 79 and 94 years old. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, there have been 7,149 deaths diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.

There are 8,959 active cases across the country and 39 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 211 correspond to the health personnel.

Of the 1,227 new cases, 628 were from Montevideo, 166 from Canelones, 60 from Cerro Largo, 52 from San José, 40 from Lavalleja, 38 from Colonia, 32 from Tacuarembó, 31 from Maldonado, 30 from Rocha, 25 from Rivera, 22 from from Treinta y Tres, 18 from Durazno, 18 from Florida, 13 from Río Negro, 12 from Flores, 12 from Salto, 11 from Soriano, 10 from Artigas and nine from Paysandú.

All departments report infected people this Friday, and Montevideo leads in number of assets with 4,294. follow him cannelloni (1,011), Cologne (518) and Saint Joseph (408), among others.
