The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that after the analysis of 2,604 samples this Saturday, 68 people infected with the virus could be identified. coronavirus SARS-COV-2.
The most recent part of the health institution indicates that during the day there were no deaths related to the COVID-19, so the 8,529 deaths have officially remained since the start of the pandemic. This represents a case fatality rate of 0.77%.
In addition, 561 people remained hospitalized, 266 of them suspected of having contracted the disease, while the confirmed active ones stand at 295.
Likewise, four patients were treated in intensive care units, one of them in critical condition and three reported as serious, according to the MINSAP.

Of the total number of new patients, 42 are women and 26 men, whose ages range as follows: under 20 years of age (38), from 20 to 39 years of age (21), from 40 to 59 years of age (5), from 60 and more (4).
In turn, 56 of the most recently diagnosed were contacts of confirmed cases, two recently returned to the country carrying the infection, and the source of infection could not be established for a dozen patients.
Except for Pinar del Río and Las Tunas, the rest of the country’s provinces reported new cases, with Havana (19) as the main source of infection, while Matanzas (11) was the other territory that exceeded ten infections.
Finally, the MINSAP also reported that 41 medical discharges were granted on the day, while the two evacuated at the beginning of the pandemic and the 57 returned to their countries remain.
