Cuba identified 131 infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on Wednesday, after having processed 2,845 samples according to the report that publish today the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
Of the positive samples, 88 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases while in seven individuals the virus had been imported. 36 is the total number of patients in whom the cause of the infection was not specified.

The largest number of infections came from the eastern provinces, among which Holguín exceeded the figures with its 33 positives. They are followed by Santiago de Cuba (17), Las Tunas (11) and Granma (10).
Meanwhile, only the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality was free of new cases.
In total, 685 people remained hospitalized due to COVID-19; of these, 463 were confirmed active cases. The intensive care rooms closed with 12 patients, of which 11 were reported in serious condition.
By age ranges, infections continue to predominate in those under 20 years of age, with 68 cases on the day. In addition, 28 corresponded to the range between 20 and 39 years old, 11 to 40 to 59 years old and 24 were over 60.
The fatalities of COVID-19 continue to add up to 8,529 since no deaths were reported this day either. The lethality is 0.77%.
