Cuba identified 37 infections due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus on Monday, according to the report on the epidemiological situation issued today by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP). The figure remains stable and represents one more contagion compared to yesterday’s record.
12 territories reported new patients, including the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality, but only Havana (15) and Matanzas (six) exceeded the figure of two in 24 hours; those corresponding to Tuesday, July 5, when 1,387 samples were processed throughout the country
Of the 37, 23 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases and in three individuals the cause of the infection was not specified. Eleven was the total number of imported cases.
Clinical discharges totaled 41 while 379 people remained admitted as a result of COVID-19, of which 174 were confirmed active cases.
Three patients remained bedridden in intensive care as a result of the coronavirus.
By age, the group made up of those under 20 years old had 18 patients; eight corresponded to the range between 20 and 39 years old, five to those between 40 and 59 years old and six to those over 60.
The fatalities of COVID-19 continue to total 8,529 since no fatalities were reported this day either, according to health authorities.
