The Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) of Cuba reported that at the close of this Friday, 97 new infections of coronavirus in the country, after the analysis of 2166 samples.
The most recent party The health agency indicates that no deaths related to COVID-19 were reported on the day, so the number of deaths from this cause on the Island since the start of the pandemic remains at 8,529. This represents a fatality rate of 0.77%.
In addition, it was reported that 734 people are currently hospitalized for the disease, of which 289 are suspected of having been infected with the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, while the number of confirmed active patients was 445.
According to the MINSAP, six COVID-19 patients were being treated in the country’s intensive care units until midnight yesterday, all reported as serious.

Of the new cases, 60 are women and 37 men. Meanwhile, 70 were contacts of confirmed cases, two had their source of infection abroad and it was not possible to specify the route of infection of 25 people.
Only 11 cases, 11.3% of all those detected, were asymptomatic at the time of the test.
As for the ages of the new patients, 51 are under 20 years old, 28 are between 20 and 39 years old, another 10 are between 40 and 49 years old, while eight are over 60 years old.
All the country’s provinces, with the exception of the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality, reported at least one infection during the day, but only Holguín, with 20, and Havana and Santiago de Cuba, both with 15, and Las Tunas, with 12, exceeded ten new patients.
Finally, the MINSAP also specified that the two evacuees and the 57 returned to their countries throughout the pandemic are maintained, while setting the medical discharges granted on the day at 107.
