After more than two years of the covid-19 pandemic this 2022 the ‘River Round Carnival’a traditional festival of the community of the town of Suba, in which neighbors from the neighborhoods bordering the Bogotá river round together with the Mayor’s Officecarried out actions to recover those areas of the tributary.
The festival that took place this Saturday, July 30, and had its first edition in 2004 in the Fontanar del Río neighborhoodwith the recovery of the first four blocks of the sector.

On this occasion there was a massive attendance of more than 2,000 people, 107 troupes, several community pots, entrepreneurship fair, artistic and cultural demonstrationsin addition to musical presentations and prizes.
“Since many years, the community of the round of the Bogotá river has worked hard to recover and develop the area and make the river the face of our town. This July 30 returned the ‘Rio Round Carnival“, affirmed the mayor of Suba, Julián Andrés Moreno.
The event wanted to be a space of resignification of the territorywith the greatest social and environmental challenges of the locality, where they are present the development needs of more than 20,000 families that inhabit the neighborhoods around the Bogotá River.
Additionally, the Suba Local Mayor’s Office has been executing actions of landscaping, gardening and planting, in more than 5,000 square meters around the river.

It is worth mentioning that this annual event has the purpose the execution of actions to recover the round of the Bogotá River, the most important tributary of the Colombian capital, led by the citizens and supported by the Municipality of Suba.
