Corinthians defeated Cruzeiro 1-0 on Friday night (18) at the Canindé stadium, and took the lead in the Brazilian Women’s Football Championship. The match opened the 3rd round of the competition.

With the triumph, Timão reached seven points, one more than Internacional and Ferroviária, who will take the field next Monday (21), respectively against São Paulo and Flamengo. Raposa is still without a win in the competition, with just two points.
In a very even dispute, Corinthians’ victory was confirmed in the 9th minute of the second half, when Miriã scored with a header after a corner taken by Tamires.
Now, Cruzeiro will return to the field next Friday (25), when they face Palmeiras. Two days later, Timão played a classic with Santos in Vila Belmiro.
