Tricolor from Rio Grande do Sul, which is trying for the unprecedented Copinha title, secured its place after beating Palmeiras 3-2. Timão, current champion, got the better of Vasco 1-0. The first game of the semi will be Criciúma x São Paulo, at 7:30 pm (Brasília time) on Tuesday (21). The other, Grêmio x Corinthians, will be at 5pm on Wednesday (22). On Saturday (18), São Paulo qualified after beating Cruzeiro 3-1. In the second game of the night, Criciúma defeated Ferroviária 1-0, and also secured a place in the quarterfinals.
The 55th edition of Copinha brought together 128 clubs in the first phase (groups). The title decision is scheduled for January 25th, a holiday in the capital of São Paulo. The final will take place at Pacaembu.
