This division of Copei will not participate in the primary vote on October 22 of this year, because Juan Carlos Alvarado, current secretary general of that party, considered that it was excluded from the process and that “the least that this instance wants is let there be unity”
Juan Carlos Alvarado’s Copei, who is the general secretary of one of the factions of that party —whose symbols were delivered by the Supreme Court of Justice to that division, after the organization was prosecuted in 2019— proclaimed that leader as his candidate for the 2024 presidential elections.
“After an extensive day of the National Federal Council of the Christian Democratic Party, Copei, this March 24 and 25, the Copeyan leadership unanimously approved the candidacy of deputy Juan Carlos Alvarado (of the 2020 National Assembly) for the 2024 presidential elections. ″, the political group that is part of the Democratic Alliance reported on Twitter.
After that announcement, Alvarado, who is currently the general secretary of that Copei division, assured that he will assume his candidacy “with responsibility, commitment and love for Venezuela” and thanked the green awning for their support on the path that he will travel facing to the electoral process next year.
“Enough of corruption and darkness. The time has come for justice and deep cleaning in the bureaucratic apparatus of the public administration. Let us vindicate the Constitution for a dignified life, with well-equipped hospitals public and private schools where the PAE has to offer our children a balanced diet. Hoy Copei, cWith 77 years of history and an example of national and regional leadership, it is committed to working for La Venezuela Posible,” the leader wrote on his social networks.
Our Plan in Public Policies, presented in this #CFNCopei2023 by the national coordinator in the area, Endrick Oletta, are the result of work dating back to 2020 based on our national tours:

“I will make great efforts so that our party can be seen in all the states, that our work has a reason to exist and stick my chest in this socialist government and that it is Bolivarian, that it has nothing to do with Bolivarianism,” wrote the leader, who considered that the organization that it represents will be “the preferential option for the most dispossessed because we have doctrine, principles and values.”
It is worth mentioning that Alvarado had already announced, exactly on February 15, that this faction of Copei will not participate in the primaries of the Unitary Platform, to be held in October of this year, because it was supposedly excluded from the process. “We conclude that the least that this instance wants is for there to be unity,” she said at the time.
